First it was the hardest hit State when drug maker Purdue Pharma lied to doctors and patients about the addictive nature of OxyContin, and now, along with West Virginia and Tennessee, it’s facing a huge outbreak of Hepatitis B. 75 percent of the Hep B cases are attributed to injecting drugs.

From 2009 to 2013, the Hep B cases increased by 114 percent, while Hep B in the rest of the country was stable. For the last four of those years, 75 percent of the cases were related to injection drugs. more…
